Works by Ali Kazim and Anwar Jalal Shemza will be on view at Drawing Room, London, in ‘Listening to the Earth’, an exhibition exploring the practices of an intergenerational group of artists who work with the earth as subject and material.

Curated by Hammad Nasar, this exhibition brings together ten international artists: David Alesworth, Mohammad Alfaraj, Emii Alrai, Ali Kazim, Mary Lemley, David Nash, Abigail Reynolds, Ro Robertson, Tanoa Sasraku and Anwar Jalal Shemza. Using diverse methods and materials – including dust, foraged natural pigments, ash, slate, photography and field recordings – these artists expand the language of drawing, prompting the question: ‘What might we discover if we listened to the earth with all our senses?’
