where sacrifice begins

Where Sacrifice Begins reflects on the spiritual and moral threshold marked by Karbala, a place where choice becomes destiny and faith is measured through surrender. The dark, advancing form evokes an overwhelming force of oppression, while the ascending five-step staircase signifies the sacred presence of the Panjtan Pak and embodies five levels of spirituality, guiding a conscious and painful journey toward truth. Each step carries the weight of loss, courage, love, unity, and responsibility, marking an ethical ascent rather than a physical one. The flag stands not as a symbol of conquest, but of witness, bearing silent testimony to a stand taken for justice, dignity, and the sanctity of belief. Through restrained geometry and a red and black palette, the work meditates on a moment where sacrifice is not an end but a beginning, where suffering transforms into enduring moral clarity and resistance becomes an act of divine affirmation.
