@shahzia.sikander is lighting up Hong Kong with her cinematic projection on the M+ Facade (@mplusmuseum) 🇭🇰

For the fifth year, Art Basel expands its artistic reach across Hong Kong, collaborating with @mplusmuseum and @UBS, to activate the institution’s striking facade. Sikander's work '3 to 12 Nautical Miles’ takes to the Hong Kong skyline to engage with the complex historical and geographical context of the region. It unfolds as a tableau, composed of drawings in fluid materials such as ink and gouache, with animated imagery that takes cues from the Opium Wars.

Shahzia Sikander’s '3 to 12 Nautical Miles' was co-commissioned by Art Basel and M+, and presented by @UBS. It will be screened on the M+ Facade through June 21, 2026.

巴塞爾藝術展連續第五年擴展其在香港的藝術影響力,與M+(@mplusmuseum)及瑞銀集團(@UBS)合作,於M+標誌性的幕牆上呈獻藝術項目。西坎達的作品《領海遊移》登上香港天際線,與該地區錯綜複雜的歷史和地理背景互動。

此作品以電影形式開展,運用像是墨和水粉等液態媒材,繪製靈感源自鴉片戰爭的圖像,並將其轉化成動畫。
