Friday Gallery is honored to present our inaugural show “On Emptiness,” a solo exhibition from Pakistani artist Muzzumil Ruheel @muzzumil_ruheel_studio. Join us Friday the 13th for an opening reception with music from Naya Beat @naya.beat, a mango bar with the “king of the fruit” from Pakistan, mocktails and other delights.

Ruheel’s latest work is a meditation on the beauty of emptiness, reinterpreting calligraphy into experimental forms that speak beyond words. In his hands, the shapes of language are transformed from a method of communication into a medium of raw primal emotion ­— to say what cannot be said, beyond the place where words fail.

Blurring the repetition of form into a river of formlessness, he creates a liquid conversation between creation and destruction, presence and impermanence. From emptiness, everything emerges.
