Chawkandi Art Gallery is delighted to present Hamid Ali Hanbhi and Ahsan Memon’s Relationship of Words and Images.
Ahsan Memon creates solitary protagonists in mysterious surroundings. With eyes closed or barely open, these portraits occupy a space between the known and the uncertain. Hamid Ali Hanbhi explores the idea of the moving image and its imprint on the mind. His rich landscapes resemble movie stills, with what appear to be audio subtitles; viewers are forced to pause and reexamine narrative and storytelling.
