| يستمد معرض “رأينا مدارًا لا ينتهي” عنوانه من قصيدة للفنانة سحر شاه، ويناقش الطرق التي يشهد بها الفنانون على مدنهم.
ويجمع المعرض بين أعمال فنانين توثق ممارساتهم مع مفهوم “المدينة” من خلال إشارات ودية وشخصية، غالبًا من خلال مناقشة تجسيد حركيات مثل المشي والزحف؛ وأعمال تسجيلية يعيد الفنانيين تفسير عدة مواضيع من خلال أعمال فنية تتمثل في التصوير الفوتوغرافي والرسم والكتابة والنحت ورسومات الخرائط البديلة.
| Taking its title from a poem by artist Seher Shah, ‘We saw an endless cycle’ speaks to the ways in which artists bear witness to the city.
The exhibition brings together works by artists whose practices closely engage with cities through intimate gestures; acts of recording and reinterpretation through photographing, painting, drawing, writing, sculpting; performative practices including walking and crawling, and processes of counter- mapping.
The artists take their tools to bare on cities across the globe. Offering reverberations and reflections to our own context in Jeddah through the evolving methods in visual and performative practices.
The exhibition features artworks and archival materials including works from the Art Jameel Collection, new commissions and loans.
