Iftikhar Dadi and Elizabeth Dadi’s Subaqueous (2026), a neon installation commissioned by the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (FAAM), Japan, for its permanent collection, is currently on view in South Asia Through the Veins of Light.

The installation turns its attention to the fragile yet essential organisms inhabiting underwater marine environments and the intricate ecosystems they sustain. Translating these often-overlooked forms into large-scale luminous neon structures, the Dadis move between drawing and sculpture, enlarging and intensifying their forms to invite a renewed encounter with marine life.

A blue channel runs through the installation, connecting one organism to another and creating a continuous visual thread across the work.

Subaqueous remains on view until January 2027.
