‘Land Scape’ 2026 is a new painting by Waseem Ahmed (Pakistani, b.

1976). Intentionally titled with two divided words, the essence of the work lies in bringing our attention to what we often ignore.

The finely rendered foreground, depicting only plants and motifs drawn from the natural world, such as dragonflies, flowers, leaves, and honeybees is in contrast with a bare, empty background, giving heightened importance and breathing space to the ‘scape’ and those things we often overlook.

The work is produced in Waseem Ahmed’s unique and experimental approach using traditional miniature techniques, specifically here with coloured, dry pigment and gold leaf on handmade wasli paper.
