Under the banner of Grow, Asia NOW presented selections from Of Mountains and Seas, the ecologically-themed 2024 Lahore Biennale (@lahorebiennalefoundation) curated by John Tain (@mirrortravels).

Addressing the climate crisis, the exhibition explored how local and indigenous knowledge can help societies adapt. At the Monnaie de Paris, participating artists traced conversations across ecologies, histories, and continents.

Hamra Abbas (@hamra_abbas ) and Imran Qureshi @imranqureshiartist ) deployed stone inlay and ceramics, referencing the works' original displays at the Mughal-era Shalimar Gardens and Lahore Fort. Feroza Hakeem (@feroza_hakeemofficial ) adapted miniature painting to address issues affecting the Hazara community, while Fazal Rizvi (@fazalrizvi1 ) explored human and geological time in the northern mountain ranges. Mella Jaarsma (@mellajaarsma ) bridged Indonesia and Pakistan with a textile installation focusing on land use. (Supported by @baikartgallery )

The public spaces were activated by Abuzar Madhu’s c (@abuzarmadhu )ceremony addressing the pollution of Lahore’s River Ravi, alongside a culinary and spiritual performance by Rizvi and Baneen Mirza @baneenm emphasizing our connection to the earth.
Complemented by a video program for featuring Sin Wai Kin @sin.wai.kin , Zheng Bo, Gidree Bawlee, @gidree.bawlee and others, the presentation preserved histories of place while evoking the poetics of coexistence.
