For Women’s History Month, we recognize the work of women artists from the MENASA region whose practices resist borders whether geographic, cultural, or political.

MENASA+: Thresholds of Representation brings together works by Sara Rahanjam (@sararahanjam), Alemeh Bagherian (@alemeh_bagherian), Haya Zaidi (@hayazaidi), Shahpari Rahmani (@shahpari.rahmani), and the Rewind Collective (@rwd_collective). Working across mediums and disciplines, these artists engage questions of collective memory, migration, language, and the layered realities of life across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia.

Their practices offer nuanced and deeply considered reflections on histories, identities, and shared experience. Where public narratives often reduce cultures to singular headlines, these artists create space for complexity, reflection, and dialogue. This month, we celebrate their work and the perspectives they bring, honoring the vision and resilience of women whose voices continue to shape culture while navigating challenges long embedded within it.
