Paul-Mehdi Rizvi is an interdisciplinary artist based in Karachi. Since 2011, his practice has explored social, cultural, philosophical, and psychoanalytical frameworks. He has exhibited widely, notably through projects linked to The Artists of the Manifesto of Nomadism, as well as the Kara-Art festivals and Alliance Française (since circa 2003), and a solo show at ArtChowk in 2012. Rizvi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from Karachi University, an MBA in Information Technology Management (Canada), and qualifications in Computer Sciences and Web Design, alongside a Higher National Diploma in Audio-Visual Design from London (1989-1992). He has worked as Creative Head and Producer-Director in the UK and Pakistan and is a professional photographer.

Manizhe Ali, multidisciplinary artist specialising in film and jewellery, has participated in this exhibition through her own creative Intervention; a response to Rizvi’s body of work, which springboards off his theoretical and material schema, resulting in an artwork with its own set of philosophical frameworks and posed questions.

Marvi Malik, Art Writer in Residence for Rizvi, has followed the artist’s journey from idea to manifestation, documenting, interviewing and delving into the inspiration behind the image-making. She supports the visual production of Rizvi’s work with text-based narratives, media and critique.
