I’m delighted to return to @koelgallery for my solo show opening on Jan 8th at 4pm.
It’s been a beautiful experience working with @noorjehanbilgrami @naazishataullah and the Koel gallery staff of artists and installers.
I’ve been working with the theme of “Becoming” and “Kul” for 2 years now. These concepts were first published in my interview @narsfoundation during my fellowship in Brooklyn last summer in 2024. They evolved over time, leading to my solo show @alhamralac Alhamra Arts Center in Lahore for the @faizpeacefestival and @lahorelitfest, “Struggles in Art and Radical Becoming” in winter/spring 2025.
“Alchemy of Becoming” curated by Naazish Ataullah includes new works I’ve been developing during residencies and fellowships @narsfoundation @art_omi @santafeartinstitute and @tulsaartistfellowship and in Lahore.
The cover image is a laser etching made recently at the residency at Santa Fe Art Institute.
