Contemporary Pakistani artist Ali Kazim (@ali.kazim.ak) creates delicate, textural paintings layered ink and watercolours.
His meticulous brushwork is inspired by miniature painting and the rich artistic histories of the Indian subcontinent.
Working from photographs and informal snapshots taken of his sitters, Kazim creates portraits that feel both carefully staged and quietly intimate, falling somewhere between a constructed image and a private moment.
