Laila Rahman’s solo exhibition , Witness – Shahadat , opened Tuesday , December 9th , 2025 at Canvas Gallery.
" My work emerges at the intersection of the garden , the pomegranate and the moon . I imagine gardens before time on earth : the primordial gardens of earth , the Garden of Eden , and the tender garden of childhood and innocence….
Watching over these scenes is the silent moon .The moon in the role of _Kiraman Katibin_ , the Honourable Scribes , records the human condition between the states of uplift and despair as it travels on its orbital path . "
A Fulbright Scholar, Laila is a visual artist and art educator based in Lahore , Pakistan , with a BFA from the National College of Arts ( NCA ) Lahore and Central St Martins College of Art and Design , London & a Masters from the Slade School of Fine Art , London .
Laila is currently the Head of Printmaking & Digital Media at NCA.
Her work is in multiple public collections globally, including the V&A and UCL Museums , UK .
The exhibition remains open daily until Thursday , December 18th , 2025 , from 11 am – 7 pm ( closed Sundays )
