A few months ago, upon arnisa_zeqo 's invitation to a watery symposium titled Tidal Gathering at @kunsthuissyb I started thinking about the notion of tears, tearing up and tearing down. This came together as a lecture performance that I carved out from tears of my own and of many others, which I shared at this symposium tenderly held together by @chandrafrank and @sara.selvaggia.giannini , amongst a constellation of really lovely people.

Then I got a chance to share it with and read it to @paulinaruizcarballido and @robertagoeta in Paris on the 10th of Muharram, marking Ashura. And a couple of weeks later I got to share it at the amazing @books_of_others upon @bani_abidi 's invitation, and was able to share space in conversation with the lovely friend @the_scene_maker .

And then eventually as I was packing up and leaving the Netherlands after a few months of calling it home, I got to share this as an end note with some old and many new friends, in a new space for sharing called MBUCHI, initiated by my very very dear friends @evaposas and @davidhabets and their magical turtle Bigu! Ending with a home cooked Haleem dinner made by me and David. The last image you see on the slides is a poster collaboration between Bigu and I, to serve as a score for the sound work for this iteration.

Writing and thinking about this work, has been part of my own grieving journey and I am grateful to all friends and collaborators for opening up spaces to create, make and share. I'll hopefully be sharing this work in Lahore next month and possibly in other places soon too.
