This arcadian belief might be far from the actuality today but tomorrow is full of potential always. There is always hope for a better future. To reach such idealistic realms, these artists offer advanced sights that can provide such possibilities for a dynamic future. Their images transform before our eyes in a kind of space-age fantasy. This shifting reality is in fact how we can understand our world today—how we see it depends on where we are standing.

Saks Afridi fuses together spaceship navigation interfaces with Persian rugs. This handmade combination, along with several other cosmic and geometric forms, results in a multivalent image that pulsates with energy. The suggested movement is continuous to present relationships among such disparate references as Islamic geometry, astrological grids, spaceships, and Arabic and Urdu calligraphy.

Hasnat Mehmood delves into the complex relationship between human vision and representation, as elucidated by modern science.
