Curated by Antón Castro and Agar Ledo, under the slogan ‘Back to being human… in the face of the pain of others’, the biennial will address issues that mark the contemporary existential discourse: wars, climate change, migration, social crises, authoritarianism, democracy, among others.
The Pontevedra Art Biennial, promoted by the Provincial Council and the Museum of Pontevedra and the oldest in Spain, began in the 1960s and achieved international status in the 1980s. After fifteen years of absence, it returns as an international cultural event that seeks to celebrate art and encourage dialogue on contemporary culture.
