According to curator Sheherbano Husain, “While most art seeks to convey some form of meaning, narrative art cuts to the chase and aims to consciously tell a story, either as a moment in an ongoing tale, or as a sequence of connected or random events, with the intention of evoking an emotional response, or conveying universal truths.” Fictional Truths: Narrative Painters of Pakistan is curated by Sheherbano Husain and Zoya Currimbhoy, and features Ahmed Ali Mangarhar, ⁠Ali Azmat, Amna Rahman, ⁠Asim Butt, ⁠Colin David, ⁠Faiza Butt, Moeen Faruqi, ⁠Syed Sadequain, ⁠Sheherbano Husain, Zoya Currimbhoy, Naira Mushtaq, Tasadaq Sohail, and ⁠ Lubna Agha.
