I’m pleased to share my new public art project

Now that the biennale is over I want to thank everyone who past through the work and looked at it over the the period.

What makes something art? The physical effort behind it, the materials used, or the thought that transforms it? Must art always have a tangible form, or can it exist purely as an idea?

I navigate these questions in a world where resources, space, and opportunity are often fleeting luxuries. Yet, sometimes, the world itself presents a moment —a structure, an object, or a landscape—that resonates so deeply with an artist’s vision it demands to be owned.

The facade of this building, stripped of its prior identity, now reveals an immense abstract composition—a collage of textures and tones, layered like the city’s own subconscious. I did not create the surface, nor did I physically intervene. But what I bring to this structure is the act of seeing, of assigning meaning, and of framing it as my work, art! My medium is the idea itself, and through it, this accidental abstraction becomes something more.

This work asks the viewer to reconsider what art can be. It is not bound by its creation or its creator but exists through recognition and thought. It is a testament to the ephemeral, to the beauty that appears unbidden, and to the possibility that art can be claimed—not through possession, but through perception.

In this claiming, I honour the materials of the work—cement, weather, and time—and the forces that shaped it—commerce, labour, and erasure. The piece exists in a state of flux: it may vanish again beneath a new layer of purpose, only to re-emerge someday as a fragment of another story.

This work, like a few others, lives not because it was made, but because it was found, claimed, and shared.
