“Dividing Line” is a fascinating series of paintings that I created during my artist residency at Gasworks.

The combination of machine stitches and hand stitches on Indian jute adds a unique texture and dimension to this work. Exploring the verticality and horizontality of the city suggests a contemplation of urban landscapes and their structures. The incorporation of the city's colour palette and inspiration from its infrastructure brings a sense of connection between my artwork and the environment that surrounds me. It's interesting how I turned the artistic process into a meditative one, especially through the exploration of different types of stitches. The variation of machine stitch and hand stitch adds layers to a creative expression, reflecting a blend of technology and arts. The processes often provide a space for personal reflection and exploration. It seems like I am engaging with both the visual and tactile elements of mine process allows for a deeper connection with the subject matter.
